- Making Christmas presents
- Watching White Christmas
- Baking chocolate peanut butter bars
- Laundry
- Facebooking
- Writing letters
These were all things I did today instead of writing and grading.
I tried my best, but I just can't do it.
Do I have it in me to write an ENTIRE novel??
Trust me when I say you can. I have spent years writing music, and the one constant I've found is that I can't force it, even when I really feel I need to get something done. Some days, I'll just sit there with the program open and ready with something I've been working on, and then I'll think "I really need to check my e-mail" or "I really need to play this game" or "I really need to see what's going on with Facebook today" and I'll just spend hours doing everything except working on stuff.
ReplyDeleteAnd then other days I'll just be sitting there and suddenly I'll get the urge to write some music, I'll open the program, and I'll write half a song.
It may not always come when you want it to, but if your muse is anything like mine, you'll have some very productive days when you least expect them, and you'll be reminded that yes, you really can do this. Good luck!
